There is an interconnectedness between our body, mind, and spirit. Many believe that our body is a vehicle for experiencing the physical world around us and the means of expressing our spirit, which dwells within us. Whether you call it qi, life force, or spirit, there is an energy that flows in and through us, expressing as us every minute of the day. As long as this energy is flowing freely, unimpeded, there is harmony within. Without this energy, our bodies would be lifeless masses of dead matter!
While the source of our life energy comes from spirit, we consciously and unconsciously regulate it with our minds. We develop perceptions of our world from the experiences we have. We create our beliefs from our perceptions and then we live from the set of beliefs we have created. If our beliefs are grounded in Truth, we will put ourselves in harmony with the flow of life. This in turn, creates an energetic flow within our physical bodies that maintains balance and harmony.
Conversely, if we create and live from a set of limiting beliefs, we may find ourselves developing constriction over time in our bodies as a result of constriction in the flow within our energy field. This could be something as simple as tight muscles to something more complex like poor circulation, headaches, endocrine disorders, sluggish digestion, and heart conditions just to name a few.
The key is to understand the connection between our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves. Our minds play a major role in the health of our physical bodies. We are either creating health and harmony or we are creating conditions that cause blockages in the flow of energy throughout our bodies. This does not mean we should judge ourselves or shame ourselves if we are facing a health challenge. Judgment and shaming only create more problems. When faced with a health challenge it is important to remember that it is a natural consequence resulting from an imbalance or lack of harmony. When we recognize that we have the ability to change what we are thinking or feeling at any given time, we begin to take greater responsibility for our health. We learn to take ownership for the meaning we give everything and how we interpret our experiences. We are the authors of our lives. If the script isn’t working well, we have the freedom to rewrite it, thus creating greater flow that feeds our life force, brings harmony to our minds, and ultimately reflects in better physical health. To restore flow is to restore harmony within. When harmony is restored, the body becomes a fertile ground for true healing.
We are living, breathing history novels that contain a compete recording of everything we think, feel, and experience. As we move through our lives our physical body becomes a testimony of our beliefs, strengths, weaknesses, hopes, and fears. In essence, our biography becomes our biology.
