Thanksgiving season is upon us. Every year we set a side a day to pause and reflect upon all the blessings we have received and the goodness in our lives. We gather around the table with family and friends to enjoy a feast that feeds our bodies and the love and connection that feeds out souls. Why do we focus so strongly on giving thanks n Thanksgiving Day only to return to “normal activities” every other day of the year?
Having an attitude of gratitude raises your vibration and cleanses your energetic body. If you are having a bad day or feeling drained, a simple yet powerful way to feel uplifted is to acknowledge the good that exists in your life and give thanks for it. No matter how gloomy things may appear on the surface, there is always something you can find to appreciate and be grateful for. By expressing gratitude, you can lift your spirits and attract more goodness to you.
There is a universal law of increase that states whatever you appreciate and give thanks for will increase in your life. If you want to heal something in your body, instead of just focusing on the problem, give thanks for all the ways your body is serving you well. Appreciate how it digests the food you eat, filters the air you breathe, and moves in any direction you want to go. When you give thanks and express appreciation to your body, the cells in your body receive that information and respond favorably.
Each and every cell has its own awareness and memory of everything you have ever felt and experienced. If you complain about how your body feels or always criticize how it is functioning, it is not going to respond as positively as you would like it to. It is human nature to mentally focus on what hurts or what we believe to be wrong with us. Sometime that focus becomes habitual and blocks a bigger view of the goodness in our heath and in our lives.
In today’s polarized world, you do not have to go far to hear someone complain about something. For some people, things are never good enough or acceptable just as they are in their eyes. Criticism, judgment, and negativity are lower vibrations. If that is where you are putting all your focus, then that is what you are going to attract more of because that is the filter through which you see everything. On the other hand, expressing gratitude will take you out of your head, away from thoughts of good or bad, right or wrong, and center you more in your heart.
No matter what type of health challenge you may be facing, be it large or small, there is always something positive you can find about your body to appreciate and give thanks for. No matter what is going on in the world, the work place, or in close relationships, you can always find something good to be thankful for. Gratitude is felt in our hearts. When you sincerely give thanks for something, you are opening and expanding your heart center. Gratitude not only opens the heart; it also facilitates healing in the body. It is considered a high state of awareness that will magnetize more of what you are thankful for when expressed through the heart center.
While gratitude is part of the holiday season, giving thanks should not be limited to or only focused upon one designated day out of the year. Try starting or ending EVERY day with a ritual of giving thanks for all the goodness in your life and the gift of your physical body. No matter what your present challenges might be, there is always something you can be grateful for. After getting into a routine of a daily gratitude practice, notice what starts to change in your health and your life. Feel free to share your insights in the comment section below!
